Moving to Texas from out of state?

You are choosing a market from a thousand miles away, signing a lease you can't walk, and planning a move your team will live through. Prism 3 is the local team that does all of it for you - in Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, and Austin - and stays on to run the office after you land.

Prism 3 mark
Why Companies Come

Texas is where headquarters are moving

No state income tax, a deep labor pool, and three metros that each absorb more corporate relocations than most states.

#1

Dallas–Fort Worth led the nation in corporate headquarters relocations from 2018 to 2024.

3

Major metros - DFW, Houston, Austin - each with its own submarkets, landlords, and permitting rhythm.

0%

State income tax on wages - a recruiting advantage that shows up in every offer letter you send.

1

Accountable team for the whole arrival: site selection support, lease due diligence, build-out, the move, and facilities after.

The Out-of-State Problem

What goes wrong when nobody is on the ground

Sight Unseen

You sign a lease you haven't stood in

Work letters, TI allowances, and delivery conditions are negotiated once. If nobody who understands construction reads them before signing, the build-out pays for it later.

Vendor Roulette

Every vendor is a stranger

General contractors, movers, cablers, furniture dealers - you'd be picking from a search page. We bring a vetted bench we've already worked with, and we manage them.

Two Time Zones

Your team is still running the business back home

A relocation is a full-time job for months. Someone local has to own the schedule, the site visits, and the daily decisions - or your COO does it at midnight.

Day Two

Nobody's plan covers after the move

You arrive, and the building still needs running: work orders, vendors, maintenance, the landlord. We stay on as your facilities team so you don't hire one on day one.

How It Works

From "we're considering Texas" to Monday morning

Phase 1

Market & site read

We walk shortlisted spaces on your behalf - video, photos, and a written read on each - and work alongside your broker on the submarket and building choice.

Phase 2

Lease due diligence

Work letter, TI allowance, delivery condition, and landlord obligations reviewed before you sign - the cheapest moment to fix a problem is before it's yours.

Phase 3

Build-out

Test fits, GC and architect selection, permitting, and daily site presence. You get a weekly report you can read in five minutes and a portal with every dollar in it.

Phase 4

The move

Planned as a business-continuity project and carried out by crews we run - including the long-haul leg from your origin city, IT reconnect, and furniture install.

Phase 5

Day one and after

Floor support on day one, a live punch list, and - if you want it - facilities management on a monthly retainer so the office runs without you building a department.

FAQ

Common questions

We haven't chosen a city yet - can you help with that?

Yes. We work alongside your broker on the submarket and building decision, walk shortlisted spaces on your behalf with video and a written read on each, and flag what each lease would mean for your build-out and your budget before you commit.

Can you run the whole relocation, including the move from our current state?

Yes. We plan the move as one project - the long-haul leg from your origin city, the destination build-out, IT reconnect, furniture installation, and the surrender of the space you are leaving - with our own crews and vetted partners on the origin side.

How involved does our team need to be?

As little as you want. A principal owns the schedule and the daily decisions on the ground; you get a weekly report and a portal with every dollar and approval in it. Most clients spend a few hours a week, not a few hours a day.

What happens after we move in?

If you want it, we stay on as your facilities team on a monthly retainer - work orders, vendors, preventive maintenance, and the landlord - so you are not building a facilities department on day one in a new state.

Which Texas markets do you cover?

Dallas-Fort Worth is home. We also run projects in Houston and Austin, and we handle relocations between all three. For sites elsewhere in Texas, ask - multi-site programs are common.
